Information
PURPOSE
CNYD&CTA appreciates the value of team competition and
will support sending member teams to select team competitions.
Sponsorship includes a $75 sponsorship from CNYD&CTA for each
qualifying rider. Team members will be expected to cover entry fees
plus all other associated expenses (show and personal) not
reimbursed by CNYD&CTA.
GENERAL CNYD&CTA TEAM QUALIFICATION
REQUIREMENTS
To qualify for a team, a rider must 1) be a member in good
standing, 2) have completed at least ten hours of volunteer work at
the time qualifying scores are submitted, 3) meet any additional
requirements specified by the selected competition, 4) as part of
the team, supply a written or verbal report on the competition to
the membership and 5) submit a timely entry to CNYD&CTA
including payment of their remaining share of the entry fee. Any
additions and exceptions will be listed under the specific team
information and qualifications. Additional information as it becomes
available, as well as, deadlines for submission of scores and
volunteer hours will be published in the Lengthening Strides
newsletter. Highest scores for dressage or lowest penalty scores for
eventing will determine the primary and alternate team
members.
DRESSAGE ADULT TEAM – INFORMATION AND
QUALIFICATIONS
An individual is eligible to compete as an Adult from the
beginning of the calendar year in which they reach the age of 22.
The selected team competition for this year will be announced in the
Lengthening Strides. To qualify a rider must 1) meet the
CNYD&CTA general team qualifications, 2) submit scores of three
dressage tests at 60% or above earned at shows in the current or
previous competition year – each from different USEF or FEI licensed
judges, 3) earn at least one of the submitted dressage scores at a
CNYD&CTA-sponsored show and
4) earn scores on the same horse which will compete at the
team competition. In the event that more than four members qualify,
scores from the current competition year and scores from the highest
test in the highest level will select the team. For more

EVENTING ADULT TEAM – INFORMATION AND
QUALIFICATIONS
An individual is eligible to compete as an Adult from the
beginning of the calendar year in which they reach the age of 22.
The selected team competition for this year will either be the USEA
Eastern Regional Adult Championships or USEA Area 1 Team Competition
for Adults. To qualify a rider must 1) meet the CNYD&CTA general
team qualifications, 2) have completed at least two USEA-sanctioned
events or one USEA-sanctioned event and one unrecognized event at
the same or higher level in the current or previous competition year
with no jumping penalties in cross country (time penalties will not
count as jumping penalties), placing 1st through 6th at one of those
events and 3) must have ridden on the same horse the member will
ride in the team competition at one of the two required events. In
the event that more than four members qualify, the lowest scores in
a USEA-sanctioned event will select the team. For more information,

JUNIOR / YOUNG RIDER DRESSAGE TEAM – INFORMATION AND
QUALIFICATIONS
An individual is eligible to compete as a Junior / Young
Rider until the end of the calendar year in which they reach the age
of 21. The team competition selected for this year will be the USDF
Region 8 Jr/YR Team Competition being held in conjunction with the
NE Jr/YR Championship. To qualify a rider must 1) meet the
CNYD&CTA general team qualifications, 2) volunteer five of the
ten required hours in support of the Jr/YR program and 3) submit two
scores of 60% or above from tests ridden in the current or previous
competition year under an USDF L Judge Program Graduate or USEF or
FEI licensed judge. In the event that more than four members
qualify, scores from the current competition year and then scores
from the highest test in the highest level submitted will select the
