The Central New York Dressage & Combined Training Association, Inc. (CNYD&CTA) is a non-profit, tax exempt 501(c)(3) organization whose purpose is to foster an interest in dressage and eventing among like-minded equestrians. Our goals are to promote dressage and eventing as art and sport through competitions, clinics and educational activities.

CNYD&CTA was founded in 1971 with an emphasis on dressage and  was incorporated in 1977.  It has since expanded its area of interest to include eventing. As a Group Member Organization ("GMO") of the U.S. Dressage Federation, CNYD&CTA members become USDF group members, eligible to compete for certain awards and receive USDF’s monthly magazine, "USDF Connection".

CNYD&CTA hosts dressage schooling shows each year as a means to develop and evaluate the progress of horse and rider. In addition, eventing schooling competitions are sponsored to improve these related horse and rider skills.  Plus, clinics, demonstrations and lectures on a variety of topics are offered during the year.

CNYD&CTA membership entitles members to reduced entry fees at most CNYD&CTA shows and clinics, the CNYD&CTA newsletter (Lengthening Strides) and the annual Upstate, NY Omnibus and USDF Group Membership. Members can compete for dressage and eventing team competitions supported by CNYD&CTA.

CNYD&CTA newsletters cover Association activities, helpful hints and articles on pertinent subjects. The Association also sponsors year-end awards for members who have received top scores in dressage and eventing competitions. Membership runs from December 1 through November 30.
